ReviseWise - Rocks and Soils At this interactive web site you can experiment with five different rocks to test if they float, wear well, split, and absorb water. You then can learn about common uses of each rock because of its properties. When done you can take a quiz on what you learned. Be sure to click the "Full Screen" button to make the activity larger.

Phet Interactive simulations
Simulations which allow you to explore scientific concepts. Found this useful in helping students visualize concepts that they might not normally get to see occur.

This is a great interactive learning object that teaches about plate tectonics, layers of the Earth, earthquakes, volcanoes, and plate boundaries (convergent, divergent, and transform). It does this with a detailed video, online quizzes, and interactive activities where you take core samples to determine a plate boundary, compare earthquake locations to plate boundaries, and place all the plates onto a map of the Earth.
Earth Science gr. 9 Waves
This is an excellent and extensive online tutorial about waves, using animations, audio explanations, and interactive quizzes. This tutorial covers types of waves, reflection, refraction, diffraction, the wave equation, seismic waves, and much more.
